Mission Statement
The primary mission of WMA is to ensure the client’s requirements and expectations are achieved through cost effective planning and design solutions.
Architectural Intent
Our main goal is to create a design that our client is happy with and proud to own. In our initial meetings, we will talk about overall building style, shape, and expectations for the design. We need our client’s input to help us shape our design. We use a three-dimensional modeling program that allows us, even in the schematic design phase, to create a 3-d model that can be spun around and walked through to get an idea of what the finished product will look like.
The technology utilized by WMA is cutting edge. We use a drawing program called Revit, which is a building information modeling system. This means that we create a three-dimensional model of each project. To compare this with other drawing programs, a typical project would be drawn in plan, and then interior and exterior elevations would be drawn to reflect the plan. Using Revit, we are actually building a three-dimensional model of the building when we put in a wall, door, window, floors, plumbing fixtures and casework. This means that when it comes time to draw the elevations, we can put a “camera” in a room and tell the computer to give us the elevation of a particular wall, and it creates it. It is like taking a photograph of the finished product. We have found that this is an invaluable design tool to actually put the end user in their desk and show them what everything is going to look like from where they sit. This tool is also extremely helpful in deciding overall building composition, materials, colors, and relation of our new building to the site and nearby buildings.
Using Revit, we end up with a better project and eliminate surprises from the end user, not to mention the efficiency and time saving aspects.
